Find a Critical Value: Right-Tailed Test

Author: Ahmad Sattar

The right railed test is one of the two methods used to determine the critical value. Here are the steps you have to complete in this regard.

•    The first step is drawing the graph so that the central and tail regions are identified.  After that you need to subtract the value of α from 0.5.

Consider that the value of α is 0.0042.

Thus, α-0.0042 = 0.4958

•    When you have a look at the Z score table, the value closest to 0.4958 is 0.4949. Thus, add the corresponding values in the related row and column on the left.

Thus, the result would be given as,

Critical Value = 2.5 + 0.07

Critical Value = 2.57
